Aptis is taken on a computer in a single supervised session of about two hours. The Aptis fee isn't really the expensive part — repeating the exam is. If you fail one skill you re-sit the whole test. A realistic mock catches the weak skill before you pay, especially in Speaking and Writing, where most people over- or under-estimate themselves.

Each of the five parts (Core, Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking) of the first General and Advanced mocks can be taken on the web with no account and no card, with the real number of questions and the official time limit. You see your score and estimated CEFR level at the end. a Google sign-in is only needed to save your result and to unlock the rest of the mocks. After the trial, without a plan you can keep practising with a daily limit: 20 questions, one writing and one speaking a day.
No. It is an estimate based on the official scoring scales. Only the British Council issues the Aptis certificate, after the real exam.
