Aptis Writing Part 3: Answer 3 Club Members in 30-40 Words

A simple template for Aptis Writing Part 3. Answer the three chat messages in under 10 minutes with a 3-sentence formula and 30-40 words each.

Three people ask you a question in a club chat. You must answer each one in a few words, and the time is short. It is easy to write too much or too little. A fixed formula helps with both. For more guides, go to the home page.

How the social chat in Part 3 works

In Part 3, you answer three questions on a social-network style website. In our examples, you are a member of a club with a theme, such as hiking, reading, photography or cooking. Three club members ask you a question in the chat. You answer each one in 30 to 40 words. The recommended total time for the three answers is less than 10 minutes.

Register in Part 3: polite and informal. Unlike the formal letter in Part 4, here a natural tone works well. Use contractions (I'm, can't, wouldn't) and natural chat expressions such as "Totally agree!", "What a great idea!" and "To be honest...".

The 3-sentence formula for about 35 words

Build each of the 3 answers with exactly 3 sentences.

  • Sentence 1 (reaction): answer the club member directly and show that you read the message. Example: "Hi Sarah, I completely agree with your point about..." (9 words).
  • Sentence 2 (personal opinion or experience): add your view with a natural linking phrase. Example: "In my experience, holding workshops outdoors makes the sessions far more engaging for beginners." (14 words).
  • Sentence 3 (follow-up question or closing): pass the conversation back to the other person to show interaction. Example: "Have you considered suggesting that to the committee at the next meeting?" (12 words).

Total: 35 words. This is inside the 30-40 word range, and you do not use time on extra writing, which also reduces the risk of spelling mistakes.
